Harare confident

Former coach and now team manager, Bobby Odilo, is hopeful that the team will do well in the event.
“We have managed to send three teams to the inter-provincials and I hope they will do well in the event,” Odilo said.
“We have managed to win the tournament for a record nine times from 2000 so it will be good for us to win.
“There are eight provinces to take part in the event with the Harare Metropolitan province sending in three teams. The teams to take part are Harare North, Matabeleland, Harare Metropolitan, Mashonaland West, Midlands, Harare South, South and Eastern districts.
“Harare North team are the defending champions and they were training very hard. We had two Harare teams in the finals last year. I think we will improve immensely this time as we have bought on board some professional players to train the juniors.
“We had players like Mathew Lawson, Michael Mutataguta and Jamie Reesy who helped Jenny Forester in the coaching department.
“There is also confidence in the players like Mufaro Chareka, Kuziva Zvandaziva, Panashe Mamuka among others.”
Reesy who worked with the players on Fridays and Sundays was full of praise to all the teams.
“It was difficult in the beginning but now they can play well together.
“The boys are have adjusted and I think they will have strength at the backline. The team may face competition from The Hucklus who are also good,” Reesy said.
Kingdom Bank has come on board again to support school sport and this time they provided the golf T-Shirts for the team. The tournament finishes today as the U-13 play in a round robin format.
