THE Castle Lager Premier Soccer League returns for Matchday 28 with the Harare derby set to headline an action-packed programme.
The capital’s football giants will renew their fierce rivalry on Sunday, September 6, in what promises to be the standout fixture of a nine-match round scheduled from September 2 to 6. The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has confirmed all fixtures, venues and a uniform 3pm kick-off time.
Rufaro Stadium will once again take centre stage when the Green Machine and the Glamour Boys lock horns, with pride, bragging rights and crucial league points all at stake.
However, before the Harare derby grabs the spotlight, the title race is set for an early test on Wednesday when league leaders Scottland host FC Platinum at Rufaro Stadium.
The fixture was brought forward to accommodate Scottland’s CAF Champions League preliminary-round engagement against Nsingizini Hotspurs the following weekend.
That scheduling could add further significance to an already compelling contest.
Scottland are chasing another league title, while FC Platinum, one of the country’s most successful clubs in recent years, will be eager to derail the leaders’ momentum.
The action then shifts into full gear on Saturday.
Agama host Manica Diamonds at Wadzanai Stadium, Herentals welcome Bulawayo Chiefs to Rufaro, Chicken Inn take on MWOS at Luveve Stadium, while ZPC Kariba face Simba Bhora at Nyamhunga Stadium.
At Gibbo Stadium, Triangle United entertain Highlanders, while Ngezi Platinum Stars host FC Hunters at Baobab Stadium.
Then comes the main event.
CAPS United v Dynamos.
The Harare derby needs little introduction.
