Harare man pepper sprayed, loses US$7 000

A Harare man yesterday lost US$7 000 to three robbers who attacked him using a pepper spray as he relieved himself.
The man was on his way to Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport when the incident occurred near the intersection of Simon Muzenda Street and Kenneth Kaunda Avenue.

Investigations revealed that the victim hired a taxi at Road Port bus terminus as he wanted to be taken to the airport at around 8.30am.

It is alleged that along the way, the man asked the driver to stop so that he could relieve himself.

He was taken to some premises where he was subsequently attacked and pepper sprayed by the robbers.

The man became unconscious and when he regained consciousness, he made a police report. The taxi driver and the robbers are still at large.

National police spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident and said investigations are in progress.
