THE annual Golden Pilsener Harare Open professional golf tournament will tee off on Thursday and end on Saturday with a record field expected to take part at Chapman.
The Zambezi Tour tournament will attract several local and international professional golfers in the third official tour event of the year on the domestic season.
Zambezi Tour marketing and communications director, Tendayi Gwatiringa, said all was set for the event and registration had already closed. “The 2014 Golden Pilsener Harare Open tees off this Thursday and will have a record of 60 professional entries for the event,” said Gwatiringa. “The tournament will be over 54 holes and the format will be strokeplay and it has US$20 000 as prize money. “The entries have closed and we have a record entry of 60 professionals which include nine players from South Africa.
“The Hwange Open champion, Musiwalo Nethunzwi, who is establishing himself on the local tour, has entered.”
Greg Bentley and Mick Hough are also expected to feature in the tourney.
Meanwhile, Royal Harare successfully defended their Harare Province Golf League A title while Chapman won the B League title.
