Zanu-PF Harare Province says it will continue to rally behind President Mugabe and fully supports the speech he delivered at the official opening of the Third Session of the Eighth Parliament.

The province met last week and resolved that it would continue to work tirelessly towards achieving the goals and set targets.

In a statement, the party’s Harare provincial secretary for information and publicity, Cde Abicia Ushewokunze, said they recently met and acknowledged with appreciation President Mugabe’s zero tolerance stance on corruption.

“Highlights of the proposed Bills and amendments tabled are welcomed by Harare province, given that His Excellence presented a raft of measures to improve the ease of doing business environment with key areas being addressed,” he said.

He said as a province they did not condone corruption.

“In pursuing the anti-corruption thrust, we welcome His Excellency’s thrust on corruption and zero tolerance on a malignant cancer called corruption that has corroded and eroded principles, values and beliefs in Government and the private sector,” Cde Ushewokunze said.

Parliament will debate at least 24 Bills during the Third Session of Parliament with the majority meant to stimulate Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and improve the business environment in the coun- try.

Cde Ushewokunze said value addition of the agricultural produce could be enhanced by investing in mini-plants and consolidating the peasant farmers’ income.

He said infrastructural development in the country as outlined by President Mugabe was key to economic development.
