Has Ninja President ditched Rasta culture?

. .
His stellar performance at the recently held Kalawa Homecoming party at AmaZulu Sports Ground proved the a?evergreena? Winky D can stand head-to-head against any international act as he outperformed the visiting South African artistes.

As everyone in the City of Kings and Queens is hailing and praising the Zim Dancehall King, his fans, mainly those deeply rooted in the Rastafarian culture, specifically the Bobo Ashanti tribe, are somehow caught between the doldrums as the costume worn by the Gafa on the night suggested that he may have abandoned his culture.

Winky D belongs to the Bobo Ashanti, a strong branch of Rastafarianism culture who cover their dreadlocks which they refer to as a?Bobosa?, with turbans and wear long dresses, with their religion rooted and discovered in Ethiopia by Jamaicaas Prince Emmanuel Charles Edwards in the 1950s.

The Ninja President who always performed with his head covered with a turban, surprisingly graced the Kalawa stage without his trademark gear and he let his long locks enjoy the free movement as he dazzled the fans performing hit after hit.

Can Winkyas Kalawa appearance put him into trouble as he belongs to a strict sect of the Rastafarians?

Jonathan Banda who is Winky Das manager revealed that the Gafferas regalia on the Kalawa night was just a way of proving how free spirited the Gaffer president was to his loyal Bulawayo fans. He also revealed that culture is liquid hence giving an explanation to what really inspired the attire.

a?Winky is a free spirit, he always enjoys every time he is with his Bulawayo fans. He revealed his dreadlocks because he was in the mood to party with his people. He is a Bobo Ashanti but that had nothing with him abandoning the culture,a? said Banda.

Meanwhile, Banda also revealed instead of criticising Winky Das regalia fans should expect a hit album which will be launched on 2 February at the Ninja Presidentas much anticipated birthday bash.
