NGEZI Platinum Stars defender Malvern Hativagoni, has expressed his desire to add more to his national team caps, saying he is eager to represent Zimbabwe on the international stage.

Hativagoni, who has already gained invaluable experience playing for the Warriors, believes he has what it takes to be a regular feature in the team.

Hativagoni took part in the Cosafa Cup tournament in South Africa this year.

The Warriors bowed out of the tournament in a devastating fashion at the group stages but Hativagoni is grateful for the opportunity to represent the country at senior level.

Hativagoni is not new to national colours as he has represented Zimbabwe at junior level.

He was part of the 2018 Under-17 squad that played in the Cosafa Cup in Mauritius and he also travelled with the Under-20 team to Port Elizabeth in South Africa for another regional tournament. Hativagoni played in all three games at the tournament.

He was also called up as a replacement at the Chan tournament also played this year.

Hativagoni started the year off at Bulawayo Chiefs before moving to Ngezi Platinum during the mid-season transfer window where he got more continental experience playing in the Caf Champions League.

Hativagoni’s continental experience, gained from playing in the Caf Champions League, has also made him a more attractive prospect for national team selectors.

He believes that this experience has prepared him for the challenges of international football and is confident that he can make a meaningful contribution to the Warriors.

“Playing in the Caf Champions League has been an eye-opener for me,” Hativagoni said.

“It has taught me a lot about the game and has prepared me for the challenges of international football.”

Despite his desire to add to his national team caps, Hativagoni remains focused on his club football. He is aware that his performances for Ngezi Platinum Stars will be crucial in determining his chances of being selected for the national team.

“My focus is on performing well for my club,” Hativagoni said.

“If I can do that, then I believe I will have a good chance of being selected for the national team.”

Hativagoni’s hunger for more national team caps is a testament to his dedication and passion for the game.

With his continental experience and impressive form for Ngezi Platinum Stars, he is certainly one to watch in the coming year.

As the Warriors prepare for their next set of international matches, Hativagoni will be hoping to catch the eye of the national team selectors and add to his growing collection of national team caps.

If lucky Hativagoni maybe a surprise to the Warriors Squad for the Afcon finals next year.
