Gladys Mhike is a bitter, jealous and insensitive woman.
This came out at the Western Commonage Magistrates’ court when her ex-husband’s pregnant wife broke down narrating how she comes to her house and forces herself on their bed, saying they have to share her husband.
Rossina Mazuvamana from Pumula suburb said Mhike terrorises them almost every day.
During their first days of being tormented, Mazuvamana sought assistance from family members, but efforts to tame Mhike’s bizarre behaviour were futile.
As months went by Mhike became extremely violent. Fearing for her life and her husband’s Mazuvamana decided to seek help from the courts.
“I want to file a peace order against Mhike. She comes at my home to insult me verbally. When she comes, she forces me to share my husband with her on the same bed although they traditionally separated. She insults me and assaults me with open hands. She does not even consider that I am pregnant. She recently threatened to burn herself with my gas stove to death,” said Mazuvamana.
In her response Mhike only had a few words to say.
“All that she is saying are lies because I have my own husband,” said Mhike.
Magistrate Urgent Vundla ordered the respondent to refrain from insulting, assaulting and the threatening the applicant with violence. He further ordered her to refrain from approaching premises where the applicant resides.
