A 42-YEAR-OLD Bulawayo man was injured after losing control of his Honda CR-V while trying to avoid hitting a dog along Cecil Avenue near the Killarney Road intersection.

The accident occurred on September 5 at around 10.30pm.

Bulawayo police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Thandekile Ndlovu said the man, who is from Leander Avenue, Hillside, was driving north along Cecil Avenue when the accident occurred.

He was travelling alone in the Honda CR-V when he reportedly encountered a dog on the road.

“The driver tried to avoid hitting a dog which was on the road and he lost control of the vehicle, which veered off the road and overturned,” said Asst Insp Ndlovu.

The driver sustained injuries on his head, neck, back and chest as a result of the accident.

He was ferried to Mater Dei Hospital for medical attention.

Asst Insp Ndlovu said preliminary investigations indicated that the accident was caused by the driver’s failure to keep the vehicle under proper control.
