THE much-awaited spiritual and healing crusade dubbed Healing Jesus Campaign led by Ghanaian preacher, Evangelist Dag Heward Millis, kicks off in Bulawayo tonight at White City Stadium with thousands expected to attend the mega Christian event.
The event which has been highly publicised has been extended to three nights from two.
Evangelist Heward Mills has been in the country since last week and held his first Healing Jesus Campaign in Kadoma which was well attended.
Chairperson of the local organising committee, Apostle Collin Nyathi, of Harvest House International church said the campaign was interdenominational.
The crusade will start tonight and end on Thursday.
“We are expecting a large crowd. It’s now three days not two days, 5:30pm every day from Tuesday to Thursday. On Wednesday and Thursday we will also have a leaders’ conference led by Bishop Heward Mills from 8:30 to 1PM at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair where the bishop will be teaching about leadership to secular leaders and spiritual leaders,” said Apostle Nyathi.
Apostle Nyathi urged Bulawayo residents to throng the venue for healing and salvation.
“We encourage people to come in their numbers because I have been in Kadoma and I saw people being healed. We encourage those that are suffering from diseases to come and be part of the crusade,” he said.
Evangelist Heward Mills is expected to meet Bulawayo Mayor Councillor Martin Moyo and Minister of State, Cde Eunice Nomthandazo Moyo before a press briefing at the Large City Hall today.
A 5 000 strong choir made up of choresters from various denominations will lead the praise and worship sessions, 4 000 counsellors and 4 000 ushers from different denominations will be part of the mega crusade.
Apostle Nyathi said there would be free transport to ferry people to and from White City Stadium every day at various pick up points from the city centre, eastern and western suburbs.
He said an arrangement had also been made with the Bulawayo Public Transporters Association (BUPTA) to pick up people to and from White City Stadium.
Apostle Nyathi said the transportation of people will start at 2PM from the suburbs to the stadium and ends at 6PM.
The Healing Jesus Campaign has been held in over 90 countries. A total of 14 towns and cities in Zimbabwe will host the crusades.
From Bulawayo, Evangelist Heward Mills will head to Victoria Falls on November 18 and 19 before proceeding to Beitbridge on November 21 and 22.
Evangelist Heward Mills has held 132 evangelistic crusades since 2004 where 10 429 478 have turned to Christ, according to information on his website.
He says his objective is to preach the gospel to 100 million underprivileged people in the world.
