Health Ambassadors for ED give free medication and diagnosis to chronic patients

BULAWAYO health ambassadors for Economic Development are offering free medical consultations and medicines to people living with chronic diseases.

Next Saturday 14 January, the group. Will be attending to chronic patients at the UCCSA Pelandaba Church opposite Sizane High School.

Health Ambassadors for ED- a group made up of local qualified medica doctors and nurses- started the community initiative last Saturday, helping more than 200 people at the Emganwini suburb.

The exercise will spread to other suburbs in coming weeks.

The health ambassadors are doing free diabetes, HIV and other diseases testing.

After tests, they give residents medicine and refer them to a hospital where they will be further assisted.

Bulawayo vice president of Health Ambassadors for ED Mr Ganizani Phiri called for people living in suburbs surrounding UCCSA Pelanda to come for free consultation and get help.

“We started this initiative because we believe instead of complaining we should complement the Government. That is why we are inviting everyone to come and get checked for free. We are going to be in the area from 9 am till 4pm,” he said.
