THE Allied Health Practitioners Council of Zimbabwe (AHPCZ) has pegged the 2019 fees and set its registration deadline for members at March 31.
Announcing the fees structure on Friday, AHPCZ said the fees are effective February 8 and that due to delays in announcing the fees, penalties will be waived until March 31.
The new structure states that foreigners with basic medical qualifications will pay a total of $690 for a licence while locals will pay $230.
“The Allied Health Practitioners Council of Zimbabwe would like to inform its stakeholders that the 2019 fee structure has been finalised and will be published in the Government Gazette in the weeks to follow,” read the AHPCZ statement.
“The council acknowledges the delay in publishing the 2019 fees and due to this, penalty fees for the first quarter have been waived.
“Practitioners are urged to pay their renewals before March 31 of 2019 in order not to attract any late penalties as these will be charged from April 1 onward,” said AHPCZ.
Practitioners who will practising in unregistered premises will be fined $1150 for both the public and private sector.
Late renewal penalties according to AHPCZ are now pegged at $172.50, $230 and $287.50 for the second, third and fourth quarters respectively.
“With regard to this, practitioners are being advised that fees will become operational with effect from February 8, 2019.
“Those who had paid for the provisional practising certificates should pay the balance so that they are issued with the full year practicing certificate,” read the same statement.
AHPCZ said renewal fees are pegged at $230, $138 and $460 for foreigners, locals and specialists respectively.

“Practitioners are urged to pay their renewals before March 31 of 2019 in order not to attract any late penalties as these will be charged from April 1 onward,” said AHPCZ.
Medical practitioners who require registering extra qualifications will pay $92 for local and $460 for foreign qualifications.
“Examination fees for ultra sound viva, foreign registrations, ultra sound examinations and psychology will all be charged $517. All those who will require to be reactivated will pay $230,” said AHPCZ.
