SOUTH Africa’s DJ Heavy K left an indelible mark on Bulawayo during his show at Club Eden on Saturday with a three-hour performance which many described as the best party so far this year.

On a night where fans started trickling into the venue as soon as the doors at the nightspot opened at 7PM, the highly anticipated show lived up to its billing.

Revellers were eager to see Heavy K in action after he was last in the country during the Kalawa Homecoming Party in 2013.

At the Kalawa Homecoming Party, Heavy K impressed with his one hour set and gave fans a taste of what he could do on the decks.

At Club Eden there was an air of anticipation as revellers were hopeful that they would have a memorable show before he got on stage.

When Heavy K got on stage at 1.30AM, the Drumboss, as he is affectionately known, was received with rapturous applause.

He thanked the crowd for welcoming him and got down to business with his first track that shot him to stardom, Gun song.

The South African DJ went through his hit list with songs such as Lento by Professor which he helped produce, Wena, Katalina, By your side and his latest Sweetie. One of his counterparts, only known as Fire, joined him on stage with acoustic guitar in hand and as Heavy K was mixing, he would play some notes.

The combination brought a different flavour to their performance and kept those on the dance floor in a party mood.

The dance floor was packed with revellers and it was difficult for some of them to find space to show off their nimble feet. Some women were carried on shoulders by their male partners so that they could get a better view of Heavy K in action.

After the show, fans had a chance to meet Heavy K and take pictures with him in the VIP section. Heavy K was mobbed by a bevy of beauties who wanted to take numerous pictures and selfies with him.

DJs Kananjo and Keezy took cover the decks after Heavy K left and kept the revellers on the dance floor with most leaving the nightspot at around 5AM.

Before the show, Slamma, Passe and T Fresh warmed up the decks for Heavy K and played old school house, kwaito, R’n’B, and hip hop, much to the delight of the crowd.

Club Eden managed to control the large crowd and patrons did not struggle on their way in and advance tickets made life easier for the staff at the door.
