It’s September. For every school child this is the period when all the fun comes to an abrupt end. September is synonymous with scorching weather but it also heralds a new period in the year. It is time to get back to serious business for school children. Now is the time to discard all the trend fashion wear for the school uniforms as school open next week.
And for the next three months it will be time to prepare for the final examinations that would determine the results for what the children would have learnt during the whole year.
The second school term, generally regarded as the longest and most effective term, is far behind and it is the third where the test is waiting to see how one has been faring during the year.
The third term is used mainly for revising school work and means children were polishing their work while tackling new areas.
For Grade 7 pupils, this is the term where in a short few weeks you will face the examinations that opens your life to the upper levels of education.
These examinations determine whether one takes his school seriously or not.
Most pupils entering secondary education are judged by their performance in the Grade 7 examinations.
For pupils writing their Zimsec Ordinary Level, the examinations are so important that one cannot overemphasise their importance.
The O-Level examinations have made people and some have been broken.
These are the examinations that are very critical when one looks at choosing a career in life.
Once one misses out on these crucial examinations life can turn to be difficult.
The pupils writing their Zimsec Advanced Level examination are considered the crème de la crème of Zimbabwean school children.
These are the future leaders in various sectors of Zimbabwe’s future leaders who are expected to be joining Zimbabwe’s various tertiary institutions.
This term is not for playing games but playing with your books.
The examinations which start in the few coming weeks are critical to shape every child’s future.
It is wise to prepare and get ready for the examinations.
