Hefty bonuses for Shabanie Mine

Sports Reporter
Shabanie Mine players have been promised hefty bonuses amounting to $1 000 if they beat Dynamos on Sunday in the  semi-finals of the BancABC Sup8r    Cup to be staged at Barbourfields in Bulawayo. There is also a good package for the coach which is still to be announced from a number of Shabanie Mine faithfuls.
“We want our players to beat Dynamos and make it to the final.

“I also hope that FC Platinum will also make it to the final because we want an all Zvishavane final. It is our hope and wish that this is going to happen,” said John   Gudo Mahwite who is a farmer and enterprising businessman who hails from Mberengwa.

Luke “Vahombe” Masomere is also likely to get a bigger share together with his assistant coaches if they make it to the final.
This will be the second time Dynamos will be meeting the asbestos miners in a cup tournament after they were beaten in the lucrative BP Cup final in 2001 with a stunning 89th minute goal from the boot of the late Thomas “Chaurura” Makwasha.

Masomere wants his team to progress to the next stage and with the arrival of young Talbert Mtombeni, Norman Maroto, Simbarashe Gate he might achieve his   dream.

Shabanie will also welcome back captain Rodney “Zhaba” Mwale who was injured and is still to kick a ball this season. The evergreen Tafadzwa Mombeshora will be expected to be in the thick of things together with Valentine Ndaba, Fungai Chirinda, Erea Phiri and Blessed Mbavarira.

Meanwhile, Masomere has defended the status of his team ahead of the clash against champions Dynamos in the BancABC Super Cup on Sunday.

“I don’t know how people see Shabanie that they end up calling us a small team. I do not know what is considered to say this is a big team or small team. I am going to tell the nation the status of Shabanie on Saturday from the way I know it not because I am the coach.

“We managed to storm into the semi-finals not because we want to make numbers but because we want to do more,” said Masomere.
Masomere’s camp has been affected by the injury to leftback Peter Muzondo who dislocated his shoulder on Sunday in a   practice match against Gaths Mine.

The player was referred to Harare for treatment.
