Entertainment Guide
HEROES Day offers the perfect opportunity to take a break and enjoy quality entertainment with family and friends. Across Mutare, venues have lined up a packed programme of live performances, DJ showcases and themed events to suit every taste — from nostalgic old-school classics and Urban Grooves to jazz, Amapiano and relaxed dining.
Here is what some of the city’s favourite spots have in store:
Fourth Street Lounge
The lounge takes centre stage with the eagerly awaited Old School Picnic tomorrow. Zimbabwe’s biggest Urban Grooves stars — Roki, Maskiri, Trevor Dongo and Extra Large — are set to perform their hit songs. They will be backed by DJs Stapleton, Lampy, Spillz, Njels and Lion to keep the music going all day. Guests are encouraged to embrace the vintage dress theme, making it a celebration of both timeless music and fashion.
Chitsa Bar and Liquids
Dangamvura’s favourite entertainment hub has a full weekend lined up. Fire Friday kicks off with DJs Stixxie and Popinjo delivering chart-toppers and party favourites. The duo returns for Sunset Saturday, before Old School DJ Tawaz takes over on Rewind Sunday for a nostalgic set of classics guaranteed to get everyone singing and dancing.
Bistro
Now operating from its new uptown location, the upmarket venue offers a more sophisticated option. Sunday’s highlight is a live performance by a local jazz group, providing the perfect backdrop for fine dining, relaxed conversation and an afternoon with loved ones.
Pizza Pavilion
For a laid-back outing, the Pavilion remains an ideal choice throughout the long weekend. Soft, soothing music sets a pleasant tone for families, couples and groups. Whether for lunch or dinner, guests can enjoy good food in a calm atmosphere away from the nightlife bustle.
Madziro Outdoor
Open-air lovers will be well catered for from tonight. Resident DJ Candyman headlines with Afro-beats, dance music and international favourites. Sunday’s popular Old School Session returns, drawing fans of timeless classics for a relaxed yet lively afternoon.
Club Mandisa
The city-centre hotspot continues to rank among Mutare’s top nightlife destinations. DJs Apple D and Nasty will be on the decks all weekend, mixing club anthems, Amapiano and dance-floor favourites. With its energetic atmosphere, stylish VIP section and vibrant crowd, it is a favourite for those looking to celebrate Heroes Day in style.
Gullivers Night Club
The newly opened upmarket club opposite Megawatt Building is fast becoming one of Mutare’s trendiest venues. From Friday to Sunday, selected DJs will provide a diverse mix. Friday and Saturday feature the Terrible Twins and other wheel spinners, while Sunday shifts to an old-school theme with a live jazz band to end the weekend on a classy note.
