High Court throws out bail application

allegedly swindled of US$17 000, will languish in remand pri-son after he failed to secure bail at the High Court.
Dickson (40), an ex-director in a company involved in real estate business, allegedly misrepresented that he had two masters’ degrees.
He was denied bail when he initially appeared before Harare magistrate Mr Donald Ndirowei .
Through his lawyers Muza and Nyapadi, he approached the High Court seeking to overturn the lower court’s ruling, but he was forced to withdraw his application after Justice Alphas Chitakunye said it was improper.
Their application was struck off the roll.
When he initially appeared in court, Prosecutor Ms Svodai Kadivirire opposed bail arguing that Dickson had the propensity to commit similar offences while on bail.
“The State fears that accused might commit similar offences. He is in the business of selling stands and from this particular case the facts are quite clear that accused forged agreements of sale.
“On the other case he manufactured a fake agreement and nothing is going to hinder him from continuing to forge and prejudicing various desperate homeseekers,” she submi-tted.
