HIGHLANDERS coach Kelvin Kaindu will have another chance to assess his side before the start of the new season when Bosso visits Norton for a friendly encounter against Northern Region Division One side MWOS at Ngoni Stadium on Saturday.

The match was initially scheduled for last Sunday but the match was cancelled after the Premier Soccer League (PSL) deemed it a counter attraction to the Castle Challenge Cup final which saw Ngezi Platinum Stars take on Dynamos at Mhondoro’s Baobab Stadium.
Ngezi won the cup tie 2-0.

With the league start having been deferred to March 9 instead of this weekend, Bosso gets another opportunity to fine-tune their squad.

The club confirmed the weekend fixture on their social media handles.

“This Saturday, March 2, we are traveling to Norton for a friendly match against MWOS FC,” the club wrote.

This is going to be Bosso’s third friendly match ahead of the start of the 2024 season.

Highlanders have played two friendly matches in which they won 1-0 against Green Fuel and 2-1 against Bulawayo Chiefs.

A third preparatory game will be hugely beneficial for Bosso who open their campaign against Dynamos.

For MWOS, who are fondly known as Punters, this will be their third game against the country’s big three clubs.

DeMbare were their first guests and they settled for a goalless draw.

A fortnight ago, the club that is under the guidance of Lloyd Mutasa played host to Caps United and the latter won the game 2-1.

Topflight league games were meant to commence this weekend, however, PSL has since moved the start of games to March 9.

According to PSL, this was necessitated by the need to ensure that they have safe, secure and adequate venues to host Castle Lager PSL matches.
