HIGHLANDERS Football Club has been fined US$400 for failing to remit income tax to the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA).
Club chairman Mr Kindman Ndlovu appeared on Tuesday before Bulawayo magistrate Mr Golden Muyambo, facing charges of contravening Statutory Instrument 104 of 2010 as read with Section 3(1) of the Value Added Tax Act, Chapter 23:12, relating to failure to fiscalise.
Ndlovu pleaded guilty to the charge.
Mr Muyambo convicted him and sentenced him to pay a fine of US$400, which can also be paid in local currency.
Principal prosecutor Mr Milton Moyo told the court that the complainant was the State, represented by Mr Definite Museba, a revenue officer with ZIMRA’s Bulawayo Domestic Taxes office.
“The offender is Highlanders Football Club, represented by the club chairman, Kindman Ndlovu.
“During the period extending from January 1 this year to May 31, 2026, Highlanders Football Club, in violation of the Income Tax Act, failed to fiscalise in contravention of the said Act,” said Mr Moyo.
