Highlanders players returned to training on Wednesday morning following a brief period of unrest linked to outstanding dues.

The squad regrouped at the White City Stadium training grounds amid renewed assurances from the club’s leadership that efforts are underway to clear player arrears.

The move is understood to have eased tensions that had threatened to disrupt preparations at the Bulawayo football giants ahead of their match against Dynamos on Sunday at Barbourfields Stadium.

Sources close to the developments said one of the club’s leaders engaged the squad and reiterated management’s commitment to settling the outstanding payments.

The assurances appear to have been well received, with players opting to resume normal training activities.

The development comes at a crucial stage of the season as Highlanders seek to maintain stability both on and off the field while pursuing their objectives in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League campaign.

The brief disruption had raised concerns among supporters and stakeholders about the potential impact on team morale and performance ahead of upcoming fixtures.

While the immediate situation appears to have been resolved, the issue of player welfare and the timely payment of salaries remains a matter that the club will be expected to address to avoid future disruptions.

For now, however, normalcy has returned to the Bosso camp, with the focus shifting back to training, match preparations and improving results on the pitch as the league season continues.
