HILLCREST College got an early boost ahead of their trip to the four-team Treverton Rugby Tournament set for South Africa when they received tracksuits from Seed-Co.The Leopards team will leave the country on Sunday and will take part in three matches during the tour.
Hillcrest will send two teams, one for rugby and another for hockey, to the annual invitational tournament.
Hillcrest sports director Crispen Mhike said his team wanted to make an impact this time around.
“We are happy for this kind gesture and hope we will use it as motivation to go out and do well at the event,” Mhike said. “We are looking forward to improving this year as we won two of the three matches we took part in last year so, this year, we want to win all our matches.
“The team has not changed much from last year and we are even more confident. The duo of Tinashe Gonese and Tinashe Mungwari were part of the players who took part in the Craven Week so their experience will help us as well.
“We will play against three top teams and we are looking forward to do well, we will play against St Martin’s, Radio and Albarton High Schools during the tour.
“Most of our players are still around as we have about 15 players who were in the team last year so we are very positive.”
Morgan Nzwere, the Seed Co representative, said they are happy to partner the Leopards and wished them all the best.
