A BULAWAYO man lured his 18-year-old neighbour into his house on the pretext that he wanted to offer him a place to stay during industrial attachment before he allegedly sodomised him.

Talent Gonzo (27) of Hillside suburb appeared before the Bulawayo regional magistrate Mr Joseph Mabeza facing charges of sodomising the complainant.

He pleaded guilty and was remanded in custody to today sentencing.

Prosecuting, Ms Portia Mashushu said: “On 10 July at around 9am, the complainant received a phone call from the accused person informing him that he had secured him attachment, including accommodation. The complainant then proceeded to the accused person’s residence.”

Ms Mashushu said when the teenager arrived at Gonzo’s house, the accused locked the door and threatened to stab the victim with a pair of scissors if he screamed.

“When the complainant arrived at the accused’s place of residence, Gonzo locked the door and ordered the victim to sit on the bed. He then took a pair of scissors and ordered the teenager to remove his pair of trousers amid threats to stab him if he refused to comply,” she said.

The court heard that Gonzo ordered the complainant to lie on the bed with his face down before he allegedly forced himself on him without protection.

After committing the alleged offence, Gonzo threatened to kill the teenager if he revealed his ordeal to anyone.

The complainant reported the matter to the police leading to Gonzo’s arrest. The teenager was taken to hospital for a medical examination.
