Hilmax Engineering reclaims top spot

Business Reporter

ONE of the country’s prominent engineering solution providers, Hilmax Engineering, has recorded significant milestones that demonstrate strong momentum and renewal, signalling a new era of                                                           growth.

The company’s transformation has been anchored on three critical milestones — the full restoration of employee salaries; re-establishment of key supplier partnerships, including exclusive distributorships with leading South African partners; as well as strategic operational investments premised on restocking inventory, recruiting skilled personnel and preparing for the acquisition of a new          fleet.

These interventions have strengthened service delivery, boosted capacity and accelerated business momentum.

“The restoration of full salaries has had a profound impact on morale and performance,” said Hilmax Engineering managing director Mr Shepherd Kembo.

“Employees have embraced a renewed culture of accountability, innovation and ownership. Hilmax has complemented this energy with strong systems — including performance management, continuous professional development and structured feedback — ensuring that excellence is not just a target, but a daily habit.”

It is believed that the company’s exclusive distributorship agreements with renowned South African brands, which guarantee quality products and technical support, have repositioned it as a competitive and reliable player in the engineering sector.

Mr Kembo said the company’s operations are being revitalised after securing US$1 million in funding.

“Following the securing of US$1 million in funding, Hilmax has strategically deployed capital to reinforce operations, enhance technical capacity and stabilise service delivery.

“The results are already visible: improved client confidence, streamlined supply cycles, and operational continuity,” he said.

“Additional financing now in the pipeline will drive the next phase — fleet acquisition and expansion — further consolidating Hilmax’s leadership in engineering excellence.”

The company is endeavouring to ensure that each resource contributes directly to productivity and liquidity.

This deliberate focus is expected to result in enhanced operational capacity, improved service quality and steady business expansion.

Hilmax’s governance structure has also evolved, especially through the appointment of expert leadership under the Kushi Green Technologies board, providing robust oversight and accountability.

“The strengthened framework promotes ethical conduct, transparency and strategic discipline — laying a solid foundation for sustainable growth and long-term stability,” added Mr Kembo.

“Through targeted recruitment and skills development, Hilmax has bolstered its operational teams, empowering them to deliver responsive and high-quality solutions.

“This renewed capability has elevated customer confidence and positioned the company as an agile and innovative player in Zimbabwe’s industrial  landscape.”

Central to the company’s operational renewal is the planned acquisition of a new, modern fleet that is expected to enhance efficiency, expand service coverage and boost productivity.

“Looking ahead, Hilmax Engineering envisions itself as Zimbabwe’s leading engineering solutions provider, distinguished by innovation, reliability and operational excellence.

“Over the next three to five years, the company plans to expand its footprint, deepen strategic partnerships and continue investing in people and technology.

“Beyond commercial success, it aims to contribute meaningfully to Zimbabwe’s industrial ecosystem — creating employment, driving innovation, and shaping the future of engineering in the country.”
