Hired guns; Bulawayo detectives use State resources to recover gold ore and cash in private dispute

SEVEN high ranking police detectives from the Homicide Unit in Bulawayo have appeared in court on charges of theft, criminal abuse of office and obstruction of justice.

Their arrest follows an illegal operation they were contracted to do using State resources.

Four; Wellington Masuna, Kuziwa Dennis Zambuko, Fakazi Swati, Clemence Mbofana, who led an unsanctioned operation to recover gold ore and money were charged with criminal abuse of office, while Patson Muchingami, Weddington Mugabe and Fairchild Katazo were charged with obstruction of justice.

The seven appeared in court last Saturday and were remanded in custody, pending bail hearing.
