Organisers of the Zimbabwe Fashion Week have promised to bring in Hollywood celebrities as guests at the week-long fashion show that will take place from July 28 to 31.
Speaking at the official launch of the fifth edition in Avondale over the weekend, ZFW founder and executive producer Priscilla Chigariro said among the celebrities was an actor from American series Game of Thrones.
“I am happy to announce that we will have Hollywood celebrities on our guest list during the fashion show this year. More information on the names will be given in due course and press conferences will be held as the guests arrive.
“Celebrities and fashion go hand in hand and hopefully if they are impressed by our designs they might wear them at international platforms. This will therefore give our designers the much needed exposure,” she said.
This year’s fashion week runs under the theme “Afrocentrica”.
“This year we are celebrating Africanism and everything to do with African designs, fabrics and the people. We have our regional headline designer Stone Cherry coming from South Africa while each night will see a top South African designer showcasing their designs just to give the shows diversity,” she said.
