Manicaland is about to catch holy fire! Gospel queen Dorcas Moyo is pulling out all the stops for her upcoming album launch, lining up a mouth-watering mix of legends and chart-toppers in what’s already being called one of Zimbabwe’s biggest cross-genre concerts of the year.

The event, set for 6 September at the Manicaland Showgrounds, will see over 5 000 fans singing, dancing and praising as Dorcas unveils her latest masterpiece, Mugeri Tsvatu.

And she’s not coming alone.

On the line-up is Alick Macheso, Mai Charamba, Leonard Zhakata, Sulumani Chimbetu, Fungisai Zvakavapano, Blessing Shumba, Hosiah Chipanga, Mathias Mhere, Mai Mukanganwa, King David, and Afro-jazz heartthrob Mbeu. Even social media royalty Madam Boss is in the mix, adding star power to an already stacked list.
“We’re working around the clock to make this one of the biggest events in the province and the country at large,” said Dorcas. “The preparations are in motion and, come August, everything will be locked in. We’re confident of delivering something special.”

The album Mugeri Tsvatu continues Moyo’s fascinating journey into hair and identity themes, following past projects like Mhanza Haisekwi, Bvudzi Rangu Ramera, and Mvere Dzabvepi. Expect hits like Wodalitsika, Kazevezeve, Mugeri Tsvatu, and Jerusalem to take center stage.
“We’re planning to shoot videos for at least 50 percent of the album. The songs are still being finalised, but we already have a few that are solidly in place.”

Dorcas believes the event is more than just a musical showcase. It is a cultural statement and a symbol of unity.
“Our relationships with fellow artistes made this line-up possible. We value diversity and wanted a line-up that reflects Zimbabwe’s rich musical tapestry. Music has no boundaries, and this launch will prove just that.”

With each of her albums digging deep into social and spiritual narratives, Moyo has carved a unique space for herself in gospel music. From PaMarah Tapfuura to Bvisai Marara, her voice continues to rise — powerful, distinct, and rooted in authenticity.

As the countdown begins, all roads lead to Manicaland. And if the buzz is anything to go by, Mugeri Tsvatu could be the gospel event of the year.
