Afro-fusion musician David ‘HD’ Hondeyedzomba says he is looking forward to making his debut appearance at the SAMA Festival UK 2026, describing the opportunity as a major milestone in his music career.
HD and his group, The Blackways, have been confirmed among the performers for the festival, which is scheduled for 20 June in UK>
The event is one of the biggest celebrations of Zimbabwean music and culture in the diaspora, bringing together artists and fans from across the UK and beyond.
Speaking ahead of the festival, HD expressed excitement at the prospect of performing on an international stage and sharing his music with a wider audience.
“This is a huge opportunity for me and the band. Performing at SAMA Festival is something special because it brings together Zimbabweans from different parts of the world.
“I am honoured to be part of it and we are preparing to give our best performance,” he said.
The vocalist has been steadily gaining recognition for his unique sound and captivating live performances.
His inclusion on the SAMA Festival line-up, which has the likes of Kurai Makore, Young Gemini and Intotal Band, is seen as a testament to his growing influence within Zimbabwe’s music industry.
For Hondeyedzomba, the festival presents an opportunity to connect with the Zimbabwean diaspora and introduce his music to new listeners.
“We want people to enjoy themselves, sing along and experience the music we are passionate about. This is our first SAMA Festival appearance and we want to make it memorable,” said Hondeyedzomba.
