Hooker vanishes with client’s $3 600

A 24-year-old prostitute allegedly stole cash amounting to $3 600 from her tobacco farmer client who had hired her for the night, a court heard yesterday.

Precious Dube denied the allegations when she appeared before Mbare magistrate Ms Shelly Zvenyika charged with theft. Ms Zvenyika remanded her to June 26 for trial. The prosecutor Mr Vincent Chikerema opposed bail arguing that Dube was a flight risk as she is of no fixed aboard.

“The accused is of no fixed aboard and even if a warrant of arrest is issued against her the police might not be able to find her.

“There is overwhelming evidence against her and upon conviction she might face a custodial sentence,” he said.

Allegations are that on May 12 this year around 10pm, Bovern Pasirai (42) and Dube were imbibing at a night club in Southerton.

The court heard that Dube later accompanied Pasirai to the bank where he withdrew some money.

It is alleged that the two proceeded to a lodge in Highfield where they had sexual intercourse. Allegations are that Pasirai agreed to pay Dube $10 for her services.

It is the State’s case that during the night Dube stole $3 600 from Pasirai and fled.

The matter was reported to the police leading to the accused’s arrest.
