musicians at the forthcoming Harare International Festival of the Arts, said she has recorded some of the tracks which are going to feature on the collaborative album.
“This is going to be my year, since I have a lot to offer to my fans. My recent deal with DJ Oil is going to spice up things. I believe, it shall earn me the much needed international standards since he is the one who is going to mix and master the project in France.
“This Saturday will be sharing the stage with him (DJ Oil) and a Christian hip-hop called Band Monkey Nuts. This collaboration is sponsored by Pamberi Trust, African Synergy Trust and African Festivals Network,” she said.
Fast-rising Masike said she will have an opportunity to work with celebrated author Shimmer Chinodya as part of the theatrical production “Harvest of Thorns”. “I will be involved in a number of exciting collaborations during the Hifa period. DJ Oil is set to break international barriers for me and the band,” she said.
The mbira diva is expected to tour Europe in September where she is expected to raise the Zimbabwe flag high. She is polishing up her solo mbira gospel album due for release before year end.
Masike, who last year hogged the limelight at Hifa, will rekindle her romance with the festival this year running under the theme “What’s Next?”
