The Muduvuri Pan African Referral Hospital has begun offering free mobile medical service outreach programmes at all major campaign rallies ahead of plans to roll out clinics in all provinces.

This is expected to capture the large numbers synonymous with political campaign gatherings to avail medical services including routine check-ups for diabetes and hypertension among other ailments.

The pilot medical outreach, complete with an ambulance, two doctors and nurses was in Kadoma where at least 300 people were attended to.

People who got free medical check-ups hailed the move by the Muduvuri Pan African Referral Hospital as a positive step in ensuring everyone gets health services.

Mrs Irene Chipangura who was tested and found to have high blood pressure was given medication to control the condition.

“We are very excited that we got free medical check-ups after coming to attend the activity which was here. I did not know that I actually needed medical attention,” she said.

A Rimuka resident Ms Modesta Mudimusaka the outreach programmes will help people know the importance of regular check-ups.

“This move will help people to be conscious of their health,” she said.

Businessman and philanthropist Mr Jimayi Muduvuri said the medical outreach programmes will be in all provinces where there are rallies or programmes involving the First Family.

“The First Lady is carrying out a lot of programmes that are helping women, youths, families and fighting the scourge of drug and substance abuse and we have to support her through also providing medical services,” said Cde Muduvuri.

The medical outreach, he said, was a precursor for the rollout of clinics in all the country’s provinces.
