BULAWAYO’S tourism and hospitality sector has recorded impressive bookings ahead of Zimbabwe’s premier mining, engineering and transport exhibition, Mine Entra 2026, which kicks off on Wednesday and ends on Friday.
Most major hotels and lodges are fully booked, with the expo providing an opportune time for the hospitality sector to cash in.
Just like the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF), Bulawayo comes alive during Mine Entra and other exhibitions and major events, transforming the city into a buzzing marketplace of ideas, deals and spectacle.
ZITF Company hosts the event in partnership with the Chamber of Mines of Zimbabwe and the Ministry of Mines and Mining Development.
The fair is held at the Zimbabwe International Conference and Exhibition Smart City (ZICES).
This year, the flagship professional mining expo in Zimbabwe and one of the largest in the Southern African region will run under the theme: “Unearth, Transform, Prosper: Anchoring Economic Transformation through Mining Value Chains.”
Responding to questions from Zimpapers Business Hub, Hospitality Association of Zimbabwe (HAZ) Bulawayo representative Mrs Grace Guchu-Nkomo said main hotels were fully booked and ready for Mine Entra 2026.
“Main hotels are all fully booked for now, as well as some lodges. Tourism and hospitality sector players are fairly busy due to the high demand in the city during this time,” she said.
She called on the players to ensure they are well prepared and offer world-class standard services to their clientele.
