National Housing and Social Amenities Minister Soda Zhemu, accompanied by his Deputy Musa Ncube, toured the US$300 million Hills Luxury Golf Estate in Harare today.
The minister was impressed by the progress made since the project’s launch by President Mnangagwa last year.
His visit came nearly seven months after the groundbreaking ceremony in August last year.
“We are impressed with the progress that has been achieved here,” Minister Zhemu said.
“I have been told that under the first phase, they are now above 80 percent in constructing the roads, while construction of the storm water drainage facilities is at 60 percent. We have seen the progress.”
The project, which is being spearheaded by West Properties Private Limited in partnership with City of Harare, has more than 862 residential units and will accommodate around 4 310 people.
The estate will have luxury villas, apartments, retirement homes, a shopping mall, clinic, swimming, a tennis academy, and a state-of-the-art golf course.
