“HURRAY! It’s a holiday!
Many teens can now look forward to partake in all the mouthwatering food at home, watch all television programmes from all the cartoons to all documentaries this holiday.
Does that mean the exam is not coming as scheduled, especially for the exam sitting candidates? Well, this is your best time to learn how to study for you to get better grades. Holiday or no holiday, the examination day is fixed. If I was still a teenager, I would maximise on the long holiday and study.
The end of a day means the exam is nearer by a day. A holiday for a student is not like that of a working person. A student must use the holiday creatively.
Many students lose focus when studying alone at home and claim that they lack a physical competitor while doing personal studies unlike when they are in school. While many think a holiday is meant for resting and keeping away from books, others are seriously studying as usual.
The bright and focused students use the holiday to learn ahead of their teacher and revise their class notes.
Below are five golden strategies courtesy of Cool Lifestyle to help you learn how to study during weekends and holidays.
1. Make a timetable on how to study during the holiday season. And strictly follow your personal timetable
2. Study at least two subjects per day and answer half of end-of-chapter questions
3. Ask your colleagues to form study group discussions and meet twice per week.
4. Minimise distractions, e.g. phones, TV, social networks among others. Just spend minimal two hours on telly per day.
5. Set a target for each study time. For example, you can study one chapter and attempt the questions that are at the end of every chapter.
Remember guys Rome was not built in a day. Start reading now because the third term would be consumed by revision.
However, some students will get some unwanted dreams related to their exam and studies during the main exam time. If you have faith with yourself, surely you will get good marks in your exam based on your performance.
Don’t worry about this unwanted dreams and give importance to your confidence and face exams boldly without any fear.
