Huawei Zim moving in right direction

TechnoMag Staff
Huawei, the third largest world mobile phone manufacture, is likely to make some inroads into the local market after engaging local staff to handle their marketing.

The mobile manufacturer, whose products have been failing to penetrate the local market, recently managed to lure the ex sales and marketing director for Gtel, Mr Robert Gonye.

Gtel in Zimbabwe is no doubt now a very popular brand due to some serious marketing. The market now waits to see how the new country sales manager, Mr Robert Gonye will change the face of the third world`s largest smartphone maker and hopefully he will involve more Zimbabweans in this endeavour.

Huawei still has a lot of work to do locally to make Zimbabweans understand their brand and there is need for a serious culture change.

Their major mistake has been to concentrate only on the device neglecting the marketing aspect.

The involvement of local staff with knowledge of the market is definitely the right move that will enable them to gain market share.
