Hummels staying at Dortmund

LONDON. – Borussia Dortmund chief Jurgen Klopp has delivered some bad news for Manchester United fans after ruling out selling star defender Mats Hummels.
The centre back was rumoured to be close to completing a £15,8 million move to Old Trafford this week, with the Spanish media convinced a deal was all but done.
However, Klopp was asked about the transfer at a sponsor’s event yesterday and he made it absolutely clear that Hummels is staying put – with some fairly strong words.
Klopp (referring to the £15,8 million price tag of Hummels) said: “You know it’s garbage. Hummels will stay at Dortmund.”

United will now be forced to look elsewhere for another top defender, with manager Louis van Gaal trying to rebuild his back four following the exits of Nemanja Vidic, Rio Ferdinand and Patrice Evra.

The club are now expected to turn their attention to Arsenal captain Thomas Vermaelen. – The Daily Star.
