HUNDREDS of people from different walks of life converged at the Johane Marange Apostolic Church’s holy grounds for the Manicaland Provincial Defence Forces Day commemorations this morning.
The provincial commemorations were decentralised to Marange in line with the Second Republic’s devolution agenda, where the hosting of such provincial events is now being rotated among districts.

Minister of State for Manicaland Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Advocate Misheck Mugadza delivered the Presidential speech, before conferring medals on selected veterans of the liberation struggle.
Several entertainment and arts groups, as well as the Zimbabwe National Army, its cadet group and the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS) band, kept attendees entertained throughout the event.
A football match between Mutare-based army side Buffaloes and Marange Select was held in the afternoon.
