Hwange 3-0 Green Fuel
HWANGE Football Club made a bold statement that they are in the elite league for serious business after putting up a dazzling performance to clobber ten man Green Fuel in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match played at Luveve Stadium yesterday.

It was Chipangano’s second league win after they picked up maximum points in a 2-1 triumph over Yadah at Baobab Stadium last Sunday.

They now have six points, which places them on fourth position.

Hwange’s fortunes changed in the last half as Brighton Makopa coolly converted a penalty kick in the 56th minute after a Green Fuel defender handled the ball in the box in a goal mouth melee.

Green Fuel’s woes were compounded as their goalkeeper Arnold Munkuli received a second yellow for remonstrating with referee Philani Ncube who sent him for an early shower.

Hwange were 2-0 up in the 68th minute, the second goal coming from Tendai Muvhuti after he latched onto a teasing cross from substitute Ernest Gwitima.

Three minutes later, another substitute James Chivasa sealed the game as a contest when he banged home with his first touch after another delicate cross from Muvhuti.

Edmore Sibanda, standing in for head coach Nation Dube, who had lost his voice while barking instructions from the bench said their boys are now gaining confidence while the losing gaffer Bhekithemba Ndlovu said they will learn and rise again from such defeats.
