THE 2026 Pacific Breeze Southern Region Soccer League season has produced an exciting contest for individual recognition, with the league’s Soccer Stars Top 11 reflecting the depth of talent and competition witnessed throughout the campaign.
Three players from champions Hwange made the final selection, with Mayfort Tshuma, Peter
Mushure and Morestuff Ncube earning recognition after helping the coal miners secure the championship and promotion to the Premier Soccer League.
The selection was announced yesterday, with Talen Vision and Jordan FC contributing two players each to the 11-member team. The league believes the season has been defined by increased competition, with the arrival of Pacific Breeze as title sponsor bringing renewed energy to the competition.
“It has been an exciting 2026 season with the coming in of Pacific Breeze as the title sponsor of the league bringing in more zeal and more competition among the players and among the teams.
“While Hwange led for the better part of the season, the league was not short of competition.
“It was not smooth sailing for the eventual champions as they even fell to teams like Khami in their
quest for glory. “The players themselves exhibited individual brilliance and for the panelists it was difficult to choose who is best among the league’s players to include in the Top 11,” said the league.
While Hwange led the championship race for much of the campaign, their journey to the title was not without challenges, with setbacks against teams such as Khami demonstrating the competitive nature of the division.
The individual recognition has also been spread across several clubs, reflecting the quality of performances throughout the season. Talen Vision’s Gabriel Rugoho and Lucky Vundla earned places alongside Jordan FC duo Tavonga Buda and Jephius Sibanda. Michael Tembo of Njube
Spurs, Ian Mostafa of Victoria Falls Herentals, Sipho Ncube of Casmyn FC and Brendon Sithole of
Nkayi United complete the selection.
Attention now shifts to the league’s awards ceremony scheduled for 14 November in Hwange, where
the three overall Soccer Stars of the season will be announced. “The top three Soccer Stars will be announced during the Awards Ceremony scheduled for 14 November in Hwange,” said the league.
