Hwange FC press on as ZPC, Arenel pile pressure

HWANGE FC maintained their grip on top of the Zifa Southern Region Division One league table following a one nil victory over Main Line in Plumtree at the weekend.

The coalminers, who are eager to make a quick return to the top flight league, got their solitary goal from Ernest Gwitima who headed home on the 65th minute mark.

The title race is poised for a photo finish pitting Arenel, Hwange and ZPC Hwange.

Hwange top the table with 60 points from 24 games.

ZPC Hwange are in second place with 55 points. ‘

Arenel are third having accumulated 54 points.

Arenel, who dropped crucial points last weekend, picked themselves up with an impressive 3-1 victory over Bosso 90.

ZPC Hwange also collected three points beating Mosi Rovers 1-0.

In other matches, Ratanang made light work of Binga Pirates, dispatching the visitors by four goals to one.

Nathaniel Moyo scored a brace while the other goals came through Stanley Ben Smith and Future Gumbo.

Hubert Ncube was on target for Binga Pirates.

Talen Vision beat Ajax Hotspurs three nil.
