Hwange Football Club going to the next level

HWANGE Football Club coach, Try Ncube says they will not be making wholesome changes to their squad ahead of their return to the topflight league next season.

Ncube who won the league and Wafa Wafa knockout competition with Chipangano says there is no time to rest as he is already thinking about the coming season.

“As a coach you don’t break. We are going to the next level which is the premier league. It’s a difficult league and we will try to assemble a strong side that will be able to compete. The topflight league is not easy so there is a lot of work for us to do,” said Ncube.

“The fact that this squad has won so many games shows that we have a strong squad. We will just make a few additions to the already good squad that we have,” he added.

Chipangano had an experienced side this season with the likes of Canaan Nkomo, Thabani Goredema and Felix Chidungwe being vital cogs in the side.

These were romped in to ensure the side makes a quick return to the topflight league of which the test has been passed.

It remains to be seen if the side will keep the players for next season.
“For now, I cannot say they have left the club. They are our players and we need them. The intention is to keep them,” said Ncube.

Chipangano’s last dance in the top flight was in 2019 when they were relegated.

In the 2021/22 season Hwange won 27 of their 33 matches in the division one league and held off stiff competition from ZPC Hwange who pushed them all the way to the end.

Hwange are heading to the PSL together with Simba Bhora (Northern Region), Green Fuel (Eastern Region), and Sheasham (Central Region). – @innocentskizoe
