MORESTUFF Ncube and Tenda Muvuti were on target for Hwange in a crucial Pacific Breeze Zifa Southern Region away match against Casmyn at Turk Mine on Saturday.
The 4-0 win took Hwange back to the top of the log with three matches remaining.
Hwange went into the fixture on second place after Talen Vision had been awarded a 3-0 walkover decision after their opponents Mosi Rovers of Victoria Falls pulled out of the race.
Every team that is scheduled to play Mosi Rovers has been getting walkover decisions. This may be a key decider in both relegation and winning the championship depending on whether the teams clashed with Rovers in the first round of the race.
Talen Vision returned to second position with 69 points and are still as much in the race as they have been in the past two months.
Hwange coach Njabulo Dube said it was encouraging to collect maximum points. He said they had gone into the game under pressure as their opponents Talen Vision had already been awarded three points.
“I am so happy. So encouraging if you are in the race. We played this game under a lot of pressure, especially that the other team we are competing with was not playing but assured of three points, three goals, we had to make sure we collect maximum points,” said Dube.
