Hwange vow to drag Bosso over hot coals

HWANGE FC head coach Nation Dube has declared his side ready to play host to championship chasing Highlanders FC in a potentially exciting Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match slated for the Colliery Stadium on Sunday.

Following a string of poor results, Chipangano, as Hwange are affectionately known, recently suspended their technical manager Bongani Mafu and assistant coach Try Ncube to leave Dube, a club legend, in charge.

“It’s a big game but we are ready to fight. We are preparing well for them and the idea is to concentrate on our game plan.

“Confidence levels are very much high in our camp and we will need to keep that momentum,” said the soft-spoken Dube.

In their previous match, Dube, watched his charges dismiss army side Cranborne Bullets 1-0 in a league match that was played at Kariba’s Nyamhunga Stadium.

The Colliery side did not have the best trip arriving at midnight after experiencing logistical problems. The coaches deserve credit for psyching up the players to that away from home win.

The coalminers, who have the veteran duo of Canaan Nkomo and Thabani Goredema to bank on because of their experience and ability to rise to the occasion, will entertain a Bosso side whose confidence may be back following the Yadah Stars 2-0 win in a match that was staged at Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday.

Prior to that match, Bosso, had conceded six goals in three matches with losses to FC Platinum and Chicken Inn by identical 2-0 margins before the third was abandoned after 38 minutes.

They were trailing Dynamos by two goals.

Chipangano and Bosso will be hard pressed to come out as victors.

The former had a tremendous start into the season only to find themselves sinking into the relegation zone owing to inconsistent performances.

Hwange are on position 10 after posting seven wins, an equal number of draws and nine defeats.

They have a worrying goal difference of minus two in a season that they made their Premiership return.

The coal miners will entertain a title chasing Bosso who are on 44 points, one adrift log leaders Ngezi Platinum Stars.

Meanwhile, the highly anticipated Harare derby tie between Dynamos and CAPS United will be played at National Sports Stadium on Sunday.

DeMbare have announced the gate charges of the match which will be the first to be held at the giant facility since June.

Harare based teams were forced to look for alternative venues after National Sports Stadium was closed for renovations.

Minimum entry for the game is pegged at US$5.

“Dynamos Football Club will this weekend play host to CAPS United at the National Sports Stadium in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Match Day 24.

“The tickets for the derby will be selling as follows, US$5 Rest of Ground, US$10 VIP and US$15VVIP,” read a statement from PSL.
