ZIMDANCEHALL musician, Hwindi Prezident, has urged young people to abstain from drugs, especially crystal methamphetamine, known as “mutoriro” or “guka” in street lingo.
Guka has claimed lives of many youths and triggered an increase in violence and anti-social behaviour.
On Monday, the chanter released a song titled “Buka guka”, which encourages young people to live a drug-free life.
“Ndakatokumbirawo nyasha kunaTenzi, mari yandakapisa inotenga Benz.
“Tinosvika kupi? Vamwe ndovatoonda kuperezeka, kana kukaita mhepo vanopepereka.
“Ghetto youths, buka guka, ndakafunga ndobva ndabuda,” sings the chanter.
Hwindi Prezident said youths should not focus on things that affect their future.
“Mukoma wangu, munin’ina, musapfimbe nhamo kuti ndakuda. Handichade kurasika manje ndabuka. Say no more drugs,” he said.
Meanwhile, Zimdancehall musician, Killer T, also released a guka music video last year to raise awareness about substance abuse.
He said guka had affected relationships between families and friends.
