A 53-YEAR-OLD house wife has admitted to committing adultery saying she was sex starved as her husband was suffering from erectile dysfunction. The woman told the court that she had turned to bed-hopping in a bid to satisfy her sexual hunger because of her husband’s malfunctioning manhood. Thokozile Molokela of Magwegwe West said this before Bulawayo magistrate Sheunesu Matova while applying for $115 as spousal support from her husband David Molokela, a pensioner.
Thokozile claimed that Molokela was failing to support her financially.
“Your worship, David doesn’t give me money at all yet he gets $100 pension from Railways, $50 from NSSA and $100 from two tenants every month,” said Thokozile.
She said she sought the court’s intervention because her husband had failed to take care of her needs on purpose.
“I’m asking $115 to cater for my needs seeing that my husband has failed to do that willingly. I have no freedom. I only eat what he wants and I can’t even buy myself clothes,” Thokozile said.
Molokela in turn accused his wife of adultery.
He disclosed that when she went to the rural areas to take care of her ill mother, his wife had sex with two different men on different occasions.
In her defence, Thokozile said she did it to quench her sexual desire because of her husband’s failure to to rise to the ocassion.
Molokela shot back saying what his wife was claiming was news to him.
“Your worship, this woman has failed to tell me her problems at home and has shocked me by approaching the court. I cannot give her $115 as maintenance because I only get $60 from Railways, $40 from NSSA and the tenants give me $50 each per month,” he said.
He said his wife had stressed him a great deal by committing adultery with two men from her rural home.
Magistrate Matova dismissed the maintenance application.
He advised the man to be transparent in using his retirement funds and advised him to give his wife the little he got for the goodness of their union.
He also told Thokozile to bear with her husband because he was no longer employed.
