I feel awkward being part of GNU-President Mugabe

He said Zimbabwe should not be governed under the Global Political Agreement (GPA) “for too long” as the pact lacks provision for a well-founded constitutional governance structure.

He also said provisions of the GPA had been fully implemented, adding that matters termed “outstanding” by the MDC-T were not contained in the agreement but could, nonetheless, be dealt with in the spirit of the same.

The Head of State and Government and Commander-in-Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces told The Sunday Mail this after his recent meeting with the Sadc-appointed facilitator to Zimbabwe’s inter-party talks, President Jacob Zuma, in Harare.

The South African leader, who is also a member of the regional bloc’s Organ on Politics, Defence and Security Co-operation, visited the country about a week ago to discuss disagreements between Zanu-PF and MDC-T over the implementation of the GPA.-by Morris Mkwate/The Sunday Mail
