A standout performer at this year’s Miss Universe Zimbabwe pageant, Nomaqhikiza Mokoni, has expressed gratitude to all those who supported her during her pageantry journey.

The competition, which crowned seven national queens for different international pageants, saw Roseanne Hall from Shurugwi in Midlands Province being crowned Miss Universe Zimbabwe, the most coveted title of the night.

Despite missing out on the title, Mokoni who was raised between Bulawayo Province and Gwanda in Matabeleland South, says she leaves the pageant scene stronger, more focused, and determined to continue building her path in modelling and personal development.

She described the experience as life-changing, saying the journey left her with lasting personal growth and resilience.
“As this chapter comes to an end, I want to thank every single person who believed in me, voted for me, supported me, prayed for me, and stood by my side throughout this journey. This was a one-time project, but the impact it has had on me will last a lifetime,” she said.

“While I may not have brought home the crown, I leave with something far greater – growth, resilience, unforgettable memories, and a deeper understanding of my purpose.”

The beauty who is expected to travel to Bulawayo soon also paid tribute to her supporters, highlighting the strength of community backing throughout her campaign.
“To my community, thank you for showing me the power of unity and belief. Your support reminded me that no dream is ever pursued alone. I am coming home grateful, proud, and more determined than ever to continue creating opportunities, making a difference, and representing you and myself with excellence.

“This journey may be over, but my work is only beginning. I love and appreciate you. Thank you. Truly.”

Mokoni congratulated the newly crowned queens, wishing them success as they begin their reigns.
“Congratulations to the incredible queens who won. Your hard work and dedication paid off, and I wish you nothing but success as you embark on this new chapter.”

She also acknowledged former model Oliver Keith for his encouragement during the competition, saying his words carried deep meaning.
“Your words touched my heart and reminded me that this journey was always about more than a crown. It was about growth, courage, discipline, and becoming the woman I was meant to be. I may not have won the title, but I gained something that can never be taken away. Thank you for seeing me beyond the outcome and for believing in the future that still lies ahead.”
