GOALKEEPER Idrissou Nfor says he owes the Dynamos family for the way they supported him when he suffered a serious facial injury, which sidelined him for a lengthy period of time.

The Cameroonian, who joined DeMbare this season, endured a frustrating start to life in the domestic Premiership when he suffered the facial injury.

This has faced him to wear a protective mask.

“I think my injury was one of the worst moments of my life.

“It was not easy because it was my first time experiencing such a situation.

“You come to a country that is not your home and immediately you get injured. It was very difficult for me.

“But football is part of life. Sometimes things happen that you do not expect.

“Imagine living your normal life and suddenly finding yourself wearing a mask. But I accepted it because it is part of football.”

The former Cameroon youth international credited Dynamos’ leadership, teammates and supporters for helping him through his recovery.

“I want to thank the administration because they did everything possible for me to recover and come back to the pitch,” he said.

“I also want to thank the supporters.

“They encouraged me throughout my recovery and that motivated me to work hard and return stronger so that I can give them what they deserve to see from me.

“They were there for me in every aspect. They encouraged me and boosted my confidence.

“I really appreciate that.

“They made me feel at home. I never felt alone. They made me forget that I was far away from my family.

“Dynamos is a great family and I am grateful for that.” Nfor was in goals when DeMbare inflicted Ngezi Platinum’s first league defeat of the season at Rufaro last Saturday.

Now, his focus has switched to Manica Diamonds.

“I think our preparations have gone well this week. We have trained hard both individually and collectively.

“We know what is ahead of us and we are ready,” he said.

The goalkeeper has also been impressed by the standards of football in Zimbabwe since his arrival.

“Zimbabwean football is very competitive. I appreciate the level of competition, the pitches and especially the supporters,” he said.

“The fans are always there for their teams and that motivates players. Their support creates a good atmosphere for football.

“I want Dynamos to become champions of this country and win the league.

“Where I came from, I was voted the best goalkeeper in consecutive seasons. I want to continue growing and achieve more here.”
