Kelly Osbourne is excited now that the Fashion Police chapter of her life is over. Making her first TV appearance since she controversially left the show, the TV host told The Talk on Tuesday that while she enjoyed her time there, she is glad it is over. “You know what? It was the five best working years of my life,” she told the panel, which included mum Sharon.

“I am so grateful for the experience, I can’t even . . .working with Joan Rivers for five years was incredible. I learned so much.” But she added: “I’m excited for my future now. I want to try new things.”

Last month Kelly walked away from Fashion Police after five years, following the furore that broke out over a remark made by co-host Giuliana Rancic about singer Zendaya’s dreadlocked hair “smelling of weed”during the Oscars.

When Zendaya reacted angrily on Twitter suggesting the comments were racist, a tumultuous couple of weeks followed in which Rancic was forced to apologise, even though it emerged that the comments had been scripted by E!’s writers and had made it passed several editors unchallenged.

As the row blazed, Kelly attempted to stay out of it, tweeting: ‘I WILL NOT BE DRAGED INTO THIS! The situation is being rectified like ADULTS by both parties. I hope you can leave it to them & do the same!’

“Im giving everyone involved 24 hours to make it right or the world will hear how I really feel,” Kelly continued in another tweet, “Contactually Im not allowed to speak!”

But when it was reported that she in fact may have made the comment – something she immediately shot down – this appeared to be the last straw for the 30-year-old.

“I DID NOT MAKE THE WEED COMmENT. I DO NOT CONDONE RACISM SO AS A RSULT OF THIS IM SEREIOULSY QUESTIONONIG STAYING ON THE SHOW!”

In February it was confirmed she was walking away, not because of the “weed” comment, but because of how the whole situation had been handled.

When TMZ asked the Real Housewives of Atlanta star why E! should hire her, she replied: “Because I’m fashionable, and I keep it real like Joan. I keep it real and tell it like it is and I love her.’

Among the other candidates E! is supposedly eyeing up for the high-profile job are Chrissy Teigen Naya Rivera, Khloe Kardashian and Amber Rose. —Dailymirror.
