IDBZ re-tenders Gwanda housing project

THE Infrastructure Development Bank of Zimbabwe (IDBZ) has re-tendered the supply and fix contract for civil engineering for Spitzkorp Housing Project in Gwanda.

In a notice, IDBZ said the new closing date for bids is now November 24. No reason was given for the re-tendering process.

The infrastructure development bank is seeking to engage a contractor for the construction of water reticulation, sewer reticulation and roads and storm water drainage.

According to the notice, the re-tender was issued on October 21. A compulsory site visit is scheduled for November 4.

In a financial statement for the half-year ending June 2022, IDBZ said five projects worth US$38 million including US$1,3 million Spitzkop housing project were developed to bankability and fundraising activities are ongoing.

Other projects included Waneka Phase III Housing Development (US$2,5 million), Rooiport Estate Housing (US$8,9 million) and Lupane Student Accommodation Complex (US$19,7 million).

The bank was established through the IDBZ Act (Chapter 24:14) to champion sustainable infrastructure development in Zimbabwe through mobilisation of resources, capacity building, knowledge generation and sharing in support of national efforts for inclusive socio-economic development.
