A BULAWAYO man says he is still shaking like a leaf after surviving a horror love triangle that nearly cost him his manhood, all because he thought he could juggle two sisters.
The drama exploded when Nyarai Goredema (47) of Lobengula West found out that her boyfriend, Jonathan Ncube, had been playing romantic hide-and-seek between her and her younger sister. She unleashed a barrage of insults, blood-curdling threats, and a promise that still makes Ncube wince at the thought.
“You think you’re smart? I’ll cut your balls and kill you!” she allegedly screamed in one of the voice notes that sent shivers down Ncube’s spine.
Prosecutor Cathrine Kuzu told the Western Commonage Court that Goredema’s rage reached boiling point on 12 October at around noon when she texted and sent voice messages promising to “finish him off.”
Fear gripped Ncube as his phone buzzed with more menacing messages, a virtual countdown to his doom. Convinced that his days were numbered, he ran straight to the police clutching his phone and manhood like a lifeline, trembling as he played the chilling audios to officers.
“She meant every word. I thought she was on her way with a knife,” a traumatised Ncube later told friends.
Appearing before magistrate Jeconia Prince Ncube, Goredema admitted to intimidation and was handed a four — month prison sentence, wholly suspended for three years on condition she keeps her temper and knives under control.
Though justice was served, Ncube says the fear still lingers. Nights are restless, and loud knocks at the door make his heart race.
“She might be out there, watching,” he whispered.
What began as a love affair between sisters’ hearts has ended in tears, trauma and a big life-lesson: never play sisters, especially when one has a temper sharper than a blade.
